One man died in a road accident on Thursday at Ushoipokpi area of Thoubal district along Imphal-Moreh road.

According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Lunminthang Touthang, 19, son of Hemkholun of Zion Veng, Moreh Ward no. 7.
It is also reported that the incident occurred at around 11:20 am on Thursday when the scooter (TVS Ntorq) of the deceased person collided with a vehicle (Casper) of Assam Rifles. The Casper is said to be from Tengnoupal Assam Rifles.

Lilong police rushed to the spot and retrieved the dead body which was later deposited at JNIMS morgue for post-mortem.
