The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur surpassed the 30000-mark as 86 new positive cases were recorded on Thursday. With the new positive cases, the state's COVID-19 caseload reached 30,047, as per the latest update by the state health department.
The new positive cases included 84 from the general population while two are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new positive cases from the general population included 30 from Imphal East, 17 from Imphal West, 14 from Kakching, nine from Churachandpur, six from Bishnupur, four from Thoubal and two each from Chandel and Senapati, the release stated.
With the new positive cases, the number of active cases increased to 513 on Thursday.
The death toll also also mounted to 380 after a 56-year-old man from Imphal East died at RIMS hospital in Imphal.
Meanwhile, 25 new recoveries pushed the cumulative number of recovered cases to 29,153. However, the recovery rate dropped to 97.02 per cent.
Air passengers who travelled to the state on April 20 by Indigo flight 6E-524 in rows 5-11 and on April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 11-17 have been asked to inform the Common Covidd Control Room at 1800345318 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.
The release further stated that the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Manipur reached 1,18,215.
