Churachandpur recorded three new positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, making a total of 48 active cases in the past 16 days.
Meanwhile, the district administration of Churachandpur led by additional DC, S Khaikhopau Ngaihte appealed to the people to get vaccinated and said that it is the only means to fight the second wave of COVID-19 in the district as there will be shortages of oxygen, medicines and other essential medical aids as per current situation.
Khaikhopau further said that even though the 'Tika Utsav' has been extended for another seven days after April 14, less than 10 percent people turned up to get vaccinated in the last few days of the week.
On the other hand, it has been reported that there are high chances of the vaccines to go dry run soon as the government has ordered for vaccination of people within the age group of 18 years and above from May 1.
