Arunachal CM Pema Khandu gets COVID-19 vaccine first dose

The chief minister urged all eligible persons to come forward and get themselves vaccinated.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu was on Tuesday administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Khandro Dowa Zangmo hospital in Tawang.

The chief minister urged all eligible persons to come forward and get themselves vaccinated.

"Got my 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine today at Khandro Dowa Zangmo hospital at #Tawang.  I urge all eligible for vaccine must come forward and get vaccinated. This will provide the much needed protection amidst the 2nd wave," CM Khandu tweeted.

On Monday, Arunachal Pradesh reported 65 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state's total tally to 17,052, according to the state health department.

Of the total cases, 16,820 cases have recovered while 56 people have succumbed to the viral infection. There are 176 active cases in Arunachal Pradesh as of Monday.
