Amid the recent surge in new COVID-19 positive cases in Imphal West areas and as a measure to prevent the spread of the disease, DC Imphal West district, Naorem Praveen Singh declared 12 areas in the district as containment zones on Sunday.
The containment zones include Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai; MLA Quarter No 2- Thangmeiband; Sagolband Bijoy Govinda; Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak; Thangal Bazaar; Lamsang Lamdeng Khunou; Uripok Achom Leikai; Kasturi Building-Thangal Bazaar; Sagolband Sayang Pukhri Mapal; Nagamapal Lai Ishing Chaibi; Kwakeithel Nganapi Thong; and Accent building-Sagolband Moirang Leirak Machin, stated the orders issued by the deputy commissioner, Imphal West.
The boundaries of the containment zone at Kasturi Building-Thangal Bazaar are the road in the north, Hazari Malmahadev building in the south, Thangal Bazaar road in the east and Ngari Gali in the west, it stated.
While the boundaries for MLA Quarter no 2- Thangmeiband are RBI office in the north, vacant MLA quarter no 1in the south, wall in the east and road in the west. The boundaries for Accent building-Sagolband Moirang Leirak Machin are the wall in the north, Verandah on the south, staircase leading to the second floor in the east and wall in the west, it mentioned.
The order mentioned that the plots or roads mentioned are indications of the boundaries and in no case included within the containment zones.
