A thanksgiving and blessing ceremony for awardee of Mahatma Gandhi Excellence Award 2021, Haotinkhup Kipgen was held on Sunday at Good Shepherd English School, Kangpokpi Ward No XI
The thanksgiving and blessing ceremony was attended by chairman Kangpokpi town churches fellowship, reverend K Hangshing as minister. Members of Kangpokpi Town Committee led by its chairman Lunseh Kipgen along with representatives and leaders of Sadar Hills Private Schools' Association, village chiefs, Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO)- Sadar Hills and various CVOs and local bodies also attended the function.
During the event, Reverend K Hangshing invoked thanksgiving and blessing for Haotinkhup Kipgen and his family for him and his family. Shows of appreciation and presents on the part of the village chief, leaders and members of CVOs were the main highlights of the thanksgiving and blessing ceremony
Besides the Mahatma Gandhi Excellence Award 2021, Haotinkhup Kipgen, founder of Agape Children Home and principal of Good Shepherd English School, is also the recipient of FACE Rashtriya Gaurav Award 2021, International Peace Council Award, 2021 and International UNICEF Award, 2021. He has also received an appointment in the UN UNICEF Selection Board Member, 2021.
A leader with much social impact and change maker having unprecedented contribution and yeomen services with excellence in social transformation, Haotinkhup Kipgen has been an inspiration for many people especially from the Kuki community in Kangpokpi district.
He received the FACE Rashtriya Gaurav Award at New Delhi on February 20, 2021 and the Mahatma Gandhi Excellence Award at Lucknow, UP on March 6, 2021.
The United Nation International Peace Council also awarded him with the Man of Humanity Award at Pondicherry on April 10 while the International UNICEF Council awarded him the International UNICEF Award and International Human Welfare Award in recognition of his outstanding performance and accomplishment in his work on the same day. Haotinkhup Kipgen was also appointed as selection board member in the International UNICEF Council.
It may be mentioned here that KSO Sadar Hills had earlier accorded him a warm reception on his arrival at Tulihal Airport after receiving the FACE Rashtriya Gaurav Award.
