Only two weeks ago Arunachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang announced that the state has been able to contain COVID-19 spread due to collective team work by the healthcare workers and all frontline workers along with the people’s cooperation. However, the sting of COVID-19 lingered on and daily new positive cases have surged back. As per the latest update, the state recorded 28 new COVID-19 positive cases on Saturday.
The new COVID-19 positive cases included eight from the Capital Complex Region (CCR), seven from Lower Dibang Valley, five from West Kameng, two each from Papumpare and East Kameng and one each from Leparada and East Siang district, according to the state health department.
The 28 new positive cases pushed the COVID-19 confirmed tally in the state to 16,948.
Although the number of COVID-19 active cases remained below the 100 mark, it rose to 92, while the recovery tally reached 16,800, with two more recoveries. The recovery rate moved to 99.13 per cent.
Meanwhile, the state has received 4,19,072 COVID-19 test results and 1,65,414 people have been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine across the state till date. With no new reports of case fatalities, the death toll remained 56.
