A team of personnel from Yairipok Police Station detained a seller of illicit liquor along with 11 consumers during a drive conducted at Yairipok Bazar area and Charangpat Mamang Leikai on Wednesday.
At least 13 litres of DIC liquor were recovered from their possession, and the seller has been handed over to the excise station for further necessary legal formalities.
In a similar move, a team from Khongjom Police Station conducted a liquor drive in and around Khongjom bazar area on Wednesday.
During the drive, an individual who has been identified as Thokchom Birbal Singh, 57, son of late Th Sajou Singh of Khongjom Bazar, was arrested with five litres of DIC liquor from his stall located at Khongjom bazar.
