Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Churachandpur sector conducted a lecture on ‘Rain Water Harvesting’ at Sendra, Bishnupur district on Monday.

A release said that the lecture was conducted with an aim to generate awareness on scarcity of water in the environment, various aspects of rain water harvesting and ways and means to enhance the ground water levels.

The local populace was also briefed on the means to save water like closing of taps after use and judicious use of water for non-essential works and others, it added.
