As a part of the drive against liquor by Thoubal district police, a large amount of IMFLs (Indian Made Foreign Liquors) were seized from one liquor seller on Monday at around 6.50 pm, sources said.
As per police sources, the individual has been identified as one Soibam Ibotomba Singh, 49, son of (Late) S Ibomcha Singh of Thoubal Bazaar Makha. A team of Thoubal Police Station led by SDPO, H Johny Sharma along with OC of Thoubal commando, inspector N Tiken Meitei and his team raided the house of Ibotomba, it added.
During the raid, cans and bottles of beer, whiskey and rum of different brands were seized along with 36 litres of DIC liquor. The arrested person was handed over to excise Thoubal for further necessary action, the source added.
