COVID-19 care centre to be opened at Moreh hospital

Necessary measures will be taken to ensure smooth functioning of the new COVID-19 care centre once it opens, the Tengnoupal DC said.

A meeting in connection with setting up of a COVID-19 care centre in Moreh Hospital was held on Wednesday at the conference hall of Moreh Hospital.

Tengnoupal district commissioner M Rajkumar said at the meeting if COVID-19 care centre is opened at Moreh Hospital, all the OPD services will be shifted to Primary Health Centres. Necessary measures will be taken to ensure smooth functioning of the new COVID-19 care centre once it opens, he said.

He continued that only asymptomatic patients will be kept at Moreh hospital and any symptomatic and positive case will be shifted to Imphal. He also appealed to the public not to panic against the opening of the COVID care hospital. Necessary awareness to the public will be taken up, he said.

SP Vikramjit said that the district police department has made arrangements to support the COVID-19 care centre. He sought cooperation from civil body leaders in setting up the centre in Moreh hospital.

The meeting was attended by district commissioner Tengnoupal, M Rajkumar; ADC Moreh, L Manikanta; SP Tengnoupal, Th Vikramjit; additional SP (Law and order), Sangboi Gangte; CMO Tengnoupal, Lalthari Hmar; District Immunization Officer, Dr Kh Gojen; MO of Moreh Hospital, Moreh Primary Health Centres and CSO leaders of Hill Tribal Council, Meetei Council Moreh, ACODOM, Tamil Sangam, MMCM and Gorkha samaj.
