Martyrs’ family members appeal to people to take part in offering floral tributes

A ceremony for offering floral tributes will be held at Cheiraoching memorial site on April 13.

The family members of the “martyrs” who had laid down their lives fighting against the Indian Army at Kodompokpi on April 13, 1982 have appealed to people of the state to take part in a ceremony for offering floral tributes at Cheiraoching memorial site on April 13.

A family member of the nine “martyrs” Naorem Ibohanbi said that as per writ petition filed by one of the family members of the deceased persons, the High Court of Manipur has permitted to conduct a ritual ceremony of offering floral tributes at the Memorial Tomb at Cheirao Ching between 6.25 am to 5 pm. He was speaking in a press conference held at Manipur Press Club on Saturday.

The ritual will be carried out following the standard operating procedures for COVID-19, he said, appealing to people of the state to attend the function without fail.
