14th MSL: Neroca FC downed TRAU FC by 2-1 goals

Downed by two goals, TRAU FC doubled up their effort and got the needed breakthrough when M Jetlee scored in the 57th minute, but not good enough to save the match from losing from their grip.

Neroca FC got the better of TRAU FC by 2-1 goals in the 14th Manipur State League 2021 played at Artificial Turf Lamlong Thongkhong, Imphal East on Thursday.

Both teams relied on their second rung teams as their senior players were registered and engaged for the Hero I-League 2021 and are not eligible to participate in the MSL.

As compared to TRAU FC, the junior team of Neroca FC has been exposed to tournaments, including Shaheed Manoranjan CRPF football and did quite well, showing their mettle in reaching the semi-final of the meet.

Neroca FC struck quite early in the game with Md Aruwas Khan slipping through the defence and shot home the opening goal in the 7th minute of play. Luckless in their drive for the equalizing goal, TRAU FC received further jolts when N Manglem Singh consolidated for Neroca FC in the 33rd minute to enjoy 2-0 goal lead in the first half.

Neroca FC players Gangmei Langjonglu, W Rojit and TRAU FC player Th Nani got booked with yellow from referee Th Arun for rough tackles.

In the second match, Sagolband United and KLASA FC Keinou had a goalless draw to share a point each. KLASA player M Momocha, S Johnson got a yellow card each in the match.
