JNIMS employees hold back submission of mass resignation

Three associations of JNIMS had resolved to submit a mass resignation during a governing body meeting earlier held on Tuesday.

The three organisations of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), teachers Association (TA), Association for all Non-Teaching Staffs (AANTS), Trained Nurses Association (TNA) held back their resignation that was to be submitted on Wednesday.

Vice president of the Association for All Non-Teaching Staffs, (AANTS) Nilakanta Kh told the Imphal Free Press over the phone that the representatives of the three associations met with Chief Minister N Biren at his office secretariat on Wednesday. During the meeting, Biren told the representatives of the three associations that the matter will be discussed with the chief secretary Rajesh Kumar and advisor to CM (health) Sapam Ranjan, he added.

The chief minister told them that the state has been facing financial constraints; however, assured to extend necessary assistance against the demand, Nilakanta said.

He further said that for the time being, the submission for mass resignation will be put on hold and further steps of agitation will be followed as per response in the next meeting with chief secretary and advisor to CM (health). However, the schedule of the next meeting is yet to be fixed, he added.

According to reliable sources, all activities of the employees, including the outpatient department (OPD) and others will stop their service from Thursday.
