Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload rises to 63

Seven more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur on Tuesday.

The number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur on Tuesday surged to 63 as seven more persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus. With it, the cumulative number of positive cases in the state reached 29,435, according to a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.

The new positive cases included three from Imphal West, two from Tamenglong, and one each from Imphal East and Bishnupur. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

The number of recovered cases also increased to 28,998 with one more recovery. The recovery rate is 98.51 per cent, it stated.

It further stated that air passengers who travelled to the state on April 2, 2021 by Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 4-10  are to inform the Common COVID-19 Control Room No 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officer (DSO).

COVID-19 Vaccination

As many as 923 people were administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur. With it, the number of people vaccinated in the state has risen to 88,642, including 31,733 healthcare workers. No severe reactions or adverse event has been reported so far, the state health department added.
