Civil bodies condemn drug racket in Shantipur

The civil bodies of Shantipur and the general public strongly condemned such anti-social activities carried out by various drug dealers in the locality.

The local civil bodies of Shantipur Kanglatongbi including Shantipur Women Society, Shantipur Youth Union and Shantipur Village Authority along with the general public strongly condemned the drug racket practices uncovered recently in the area.

The civil bodies of Shantipur Kanglatongbi also highly applauded the efforts put forward by the Imphal West Police Commandos in arresting one Sandeep Limbu, 31, of Irang Part-I Dhoregari village, adding that the drug dealer was arrested with 88.4 Kilograms of Opium from his possession along with huge cash in Shantipur Kanglatongbi.

It stated that the civil bodies of Shantipur and the general public strongly condemned such anti-social activities carried out by various drug dealers in the locality while adding that the civil bodies had been unaware of such activities in the past and the drug dealers, from outside the premises of the village, have been responsible for defaming the entire village.

Meanwhile, the civil bodies urged all authorities concerned to take strong action against such activities which are found to be conducted in the area as per the law of the land.

It also warned that such kinds of activities should be strictly dealt with so as to stop them and save the future of the younger generation and in order to achieve progressive society that the people aspire to live in.
