Manipur's COVID-19 positive tally climbed to 29,423 with the report of eight new positive cases in the last 24 hours. The new cases included two air passengers to Imphal, the state health department said on Sunday.
With the new positive cases, the total number of active cases rose to 61 while seven patients recovered and the death toll remained 374, a release by the state Common COVID-19 Control Room stated.
The new positive cases included three each from Imphal East and Imphal West and one each from Churachandpur and Ukhrul, the release stated. It stated that all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of recovered cases stood at 28,988 and the recovery rate moved to 98.52 per cent, the release added.
As two air passengers to Imphal tested positive for coronavirus infection at the airport, air passengers who travelled to the state on April 2, 2021 by Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 4-10 have been asked to inform the Common COVID-19 Control Room No 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officer (DSO).
COVID Vaccination on April 3
As many as 901 more people in the state have been administered the COVID vaccine, taking the cumulative number of the vaccine beneficiaries in the state to 87641, the release stated. It stated that till date a total of 31,694 healthcare workers have been vaccinated with Covid vaccine. No severe reactions or adverse event has been reported so far, the state health department added.
