Manipur's COVID-19 active cases rise to 70

Five more persons tested COVID-19 positive in Manipur on Wednesday.

With five more new positive cases, the number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur increased to 70 and the cumulative number of positive cases reached 29,400, the state health department said on Wednesday.

All five new positive cases are from Imphal West district, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

It further stated that air passengers who travelled to the state on March 31 by Indigo flight 6E-2251 seated in rows 16-22, 30-40 and Air India Flight A1-889 seated in rows 12-18 are to inform the COVID-19 Common Control Room at 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO).

The state also recorded four new recoveries pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 28,956 and the state's recovery rate is 98.48 per cent.

Meanwhile, 313 more people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in the state has risen to 86,044, including 31,602 healthcare workers, the release added.
