Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload surges to 67

Four more flight passengers tested COVID-19 positive in Manipur on Monday

The number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur on Monday surged to 67 as six more persons, including four flight passengers, tested positive for the disease in a span of 24 hours, the state health department said.

Air passengers who travelled to Manipur on March 27 by Indigo flight 6E-2019 seated in rows 9-14, 22-28 and by Air Asia flight 15-7008, seated in rows 12-18 are informed to call COVID-19 Common Control Room at 1800343818 or respective district surveillance officers (DSO).

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state mounted to 29,391, including 28,950 recovered cases and 374 deaths, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

The new positive cases included two each from Imphal West and Kakching, and one each from Bishnupur and Ukhrul, the release stated adding all necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

The state's recovery rate is 98.49 per cent, it stated.

Meanwhile, 3 more persons have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in the state. With it, the cumulative number of people vaccinated in Manipur s 85,717, including 31,592, the release stated.
