Around 267 students along with the teaching and non-teaching staff attended the awareness programme which was proposed by the zonal education officer, Thoubal. Assistant inspector of schools from ZEO Thoubal, Md Abdul Gaffar; school founder, Md Abdul Kadir; and school principal, Jalaluddin were the presidium members of the programme.

In his extensive deliberation, Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee member Yumnam Laksman Singh categorically pointed out the harmful effects of the hard and soft drugs which are all highly addictive and commonly used by people. He has said that drug addiction is treatable but it is better not to indulge the drug abuse.

“There is no point of pointing our finger to somebody for drug prevention and every individual should have the strong determination, willpower and capacity to take a firm decision in saying ‘No to Drugs’,” Laksman said.

He also administered ‘drug free pledge’ in which all the students and teachers took part and shouted slogans not to use drugs in life.
