Bishnupur: 100 selected farmers receive free farm equipment, seeds

A one-day Skill Development Training on Microbial Inoculant in Horticulture Crops was organised on Friday at the training hall of KVK Bishnupur. The discussion programme was organised by KVK Bishnupur under the supervision of ICAR NBAIM, Mau UP.

During the programme which was conducted under ‘Tribal Sub Plant,’ 100 selected farmers were presented with a variety of farming equipment, knapsack spray, vermicompoat, vermibeds, plant saplings and vegetable seeds.

In regards to the event, District Horticulture officer, Oinam Kumar stated that KVK is constantly involved in various activities trying incessantly to enhance the welfare of farmers. Thanking the farmers for their support, he implored the farmers not to let the donated equipment go to waste. “If we remain complacent, the dream of PM, N Modi to double the incomes of people by 2022,” he said.

Chairman of KVK Bishnupur, Th Chaoba, in his speech, implored the people to strive constantly in order to increase income. “There are a lot of learned individuals even from far flung locations in hill districts who spend the rest of their lives waiting for a government job to happen, but since there are several ways to earn money with aid from KVK Bishnupur, let us all strive to gain more income,” he said.

Today’s event was attended by principal scientist KVK, RK Imotomba, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) - Horticulture KVK, Bijiya along with other SMS.
