Manipur CM N Biren campaigns for Assam assembly elections

In view of the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh arrived at around 1 pm on Thursday and canvassed for votes for the running BJP candidate from Lakhipur assembly constituency.

Speaking during the campaign, Biren said, “I do not come here today just only as a party worker but also for all the Manipuri students in Assam. Speaking about the public disappointment that a Manipuri candidate was denied a party ticket, the CM assured that he will go to Delhi to personally lobby for the ticket.

The team that visited Lakhipur consisted of Education Minister L Rajen; deputy chairman, SPB L Rameshwor Meitei; chairman, LLDA Susindro and MLA of Kshetrigao N Indrajit. Various other public figures also attended the campaign which included the BJP candidate from Lakhipur Kousik Rai; co-ordinator, BJP –Lakhipur Mutum Reena Singha; former MLA Rajdeep Goala; MP Rajdeep Roi, and member, MDC Keisam Champalan amongst others.
