Drunken brawl leaves three injured in Moreh

Two of the three were referred to Imphal as they sustained serious injuries.

Three individuals were rushed to Moreh hospital after sustaining injuries in a drunken brawl which took place at a house in Turel Wangma, Moreh on Tuesday evening. Two of the three were referred to Imphal as they sustained serious injuries.

The three injured persons are identified as Paonam Chandrajit Singh, 47, son of (L) P Chandra Mohan of Jiri Uchathon, presently residing at Moreh Turel Wangma; Oinam Bimoljit Singh, 33, son of O Binimoi Singh of Jiri IB Leikai; Soibam Lokendro Singh, 42, son of (L) S Yaima Singh of Kumbi Sitapur Mamang Leikai.

Sources said that the trio was involved in a drunken brawl during which Lokendro attacked Chandrajit and Bishorjit with a knife. During the scuffle, Lokendro and Chandrajit slipped and fell from the first floor of the house.

On hearing the news, personnel of Moreh police led by additional SP (Ops) M Amit rushed the spot and transported the injured trio to Moreh Hospital.

Chandrajit sustained serious cut-marks on head while the upper arm bone of Lokendro got fractured. He also sustained injuries on chin and face. Later, locals and Moreh police personnel transported Chandrajit and Lokendro to Imphal for further treatment.
