Manipur's COVID-19 daily positive tally surges back above 10-mark

Manipur on Tuesday recorded 13 new COVID-19 positive cases.

After registering a downtrend in daily spike below 10-mark for the past couple of weeks, Manipur on Tuesday recorded 13 new positive cases, according to the state health department.

With the new cases, the cumulative positive cases mounted to 29,352 and the number of active cases has risen to 44, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated on Tuesday.

Among the new positive cases, 10 are from the general population while three are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, the release stated.

The new positive cases from the general population included four from Imphal West, and one each from Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati and Ukhrul, the release added.

While no COVID-19 death case was reported in the states and the death toll remained at 373, two more recoveries pushed the cumulative recovered cases to 28,935. With it, the state's recovery rate is 98.57 per cent, it stated.

The release further stated that 739 more people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in the state. With it, the cumulative number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 increased to 82,036, including 31,180 healthcare workers, it added.

The state health department further said no severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation.
