Mizoram's COVID-19 caseload on Tuesday surged to 4,451 as three more persons tested positive for the viral infection in a span of 24 hours, according to the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR).
As per the updates posted on Twitter by the DIPR, the new positive cases are from Aizawl district.
With the new positive cases, the number of COVID-19 active cases in the state increased to 17, the DIPR said.
Among the active cases in Mizoram, Aizawl has the maximum cases with 13, followed by Siaha with three and Mamit with one case. No new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the other eight districts of the state after the recovery of the active cases.
COVID-19 has so far claimed 11 lives in Mizoram while 4,423 persons have recovered, according to the DIPR.
