Zomi musician Paukhansiam passes away

The legendary Zomi singer had 13 albums in his lifetime apart from collaborating with other artists for the cause of Zomi people.

V Paukhansiam, known as the father of Zomi songs, breathed his last on Sunday night at RIMS after struggling from health complications due to cancer.

He composed more than 350 songs in his lifetime for the reunification of Zo people. Paukhansiam was a singer, composer and musician and involved in many activities for the Zomi believing in the unification of the Zomi people. The legendary Zomi singer had 13 albums in his lifetime apart from collaborating with other artists for the cause of Zomi people.

His last rights were performed at Hiangtam Lamka cemetery by YPA lamka unit in the late afternoon of Monday. Many organisation, including Zomi Artist Association, Zomi Music Ministry, SSPP GHQ and others extended their condolences at the demise of the legendary songwriter and composer.
