Manipur: Trained Nurses Association JNIMS to begin sit-in protest

The nurses have been demanding implementation of 7th pay commission, and implementation of old pension scheme for employees who joined the service before 2004.

Trained Nurses Association JNIMS has resolved to launch a sit-in-protest from Saturday against the state government’s failure to implement the 7th pay commission and other demands of the nurses.

According to a release, the members of the association unanimously took the decision on Thursday. It stated that the nurses have been demanding implementation of 7th pay commission, implementation of old pension scheme for employees who joined the service before 2004, creation of various higher nursing post relevant to the increasing bed strength, implementation of MACP to JNIMS staffs, revision of nursing allowance in 7th pay and provision of uniform/dress allowance to nurses of JNIMS.

The association has already submitted a reminder to the authority concerned on March 9 this year. However, the authority has failed to give any positive response till date, the release added.
