PHED Tamenglong celebrates four years of citizen centric governance in Manipur

Around 500 students, NGOs, Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) and staff of the school took the pledge to conserve water and use it judiciously.

As part of celebration of completion of four years of citizen centric governance, PHED Tamenglong Division organised an awareness on ‘Hand Washing and Open Defecation Free (ODF)’ at Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Farmland, Tamenglong district on Sunday.

DC of Tamenglong Armstrong Pame attended the programme and led the pledge. After the formal function at EMRS, a rally was carried out from the school complex to the mini secretariat of Tamenglong.

CEO of Rainforest Club, Tamenglong Mordecai Panmei spoke as a resource person on the topic ‘Forest and Water Sources’ while MO of District Hospital, Tamenglong Medical Dr Aduana spoke on ‘Benefit of Hand Washing’ with demonstration. Executive engineer of PHED, Tamenglong, Gaijinlung Thaimei also spoke on ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and ODF.

Meanwhile, at Noney district, an awareness campaign on Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission was held at Longmai Part-1. The programme was organised by District Administration, Noney along with District Water and Sanitation Mission, PHE, Noney Division.

The programme was attended as chief guest by DC of Noney, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, who is also the chairman of District Water and Sanitation Mission, while EE of Noney PHE Division, Konthoujam Ibochou Singh and principal of Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School, Dijuanreiyiang Gonmei as president and guest of honour respectively.
