As a part of the four years of citizen centric governance in Manipur, a ‘Village Health and Nutrition, COVID-19 Appropriate Behavior and Vaccination Awareness Campaign’ was held on Friday at DTC hall, Tuibong, Churachandpur district and at Pherzawl district.
The campaigns were organised by the district administrations of the two districts where stalls were set up for people for health check-up and enrollment in CMHT/PMJAY scheme. The programmes were attended by the respective DCs and CMOs along with their staff, ICDS and others.
The DC of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav appealed to the people to participate in the COVID-19 vaccination drive and get enrolled in the healthcare schemes. He also highlighted the achievement of the district under the present BJP-led state government.
CMO, Dr Vumchinpau also spoke on different programmes like SAANS, PMBJP and others while DPO, ICDS S Madani Devi spoke about the need to have proper foods. She also said that there are many locally available vegetables and fruits which can be a rich source of vitamins and nutrition for children.
Giving his speech on COVID-19 appropriate behavior, Dr Thanglalmuang said that “your safety is the safety of the society.”
WHO consultant Vasty emphasised on the need to have COVID-19 vaccination and alerted that lack of vaccination can have a great repercussion in the society as the disease is not yet wiped out.
