The Zomi Student Federation (ZSF) has opted not to support the 24-hour total bandh called by ATSUM from the midnight of March 12 in the entire hill district of Manipur.

The ZSF Information and Publicity department stated in a release that the student federation has withdrawn from the joint students’ body that endorsed the bandh. It also said that ZSF is not against early conduct of MDC election, however, resorting to bandh or strike that paralyses normal life and education system, is against their principal.

“The state is slowly getting back to normal after lockdown for many months, and imposing bandh during these days is unreasonable. We hope that all will be well under the leadership of chief minister N Biren Singh,” said ZSF.
