Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload surges back above 35-mark

Four more persons tested COVID-19 positive in Manipur on Thursday.

Manipur on Thursday recorded four new COVID-19 pushing the state's tally to 29,309, according to the state health department.

With the new positive cases, the number of active cases in the state has risen to 36, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.

As per the release, the new positive cases included one each from Imphal East, Kakching, Tamenglong and Churachandpur. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

In all, 28,900 persons have recovered from the viral infection, including three new recovered cases and the state's recovery rate reached 98.60 per cent, the release stated.

While the death toll remained at 373 with no COVID-19 death case on Thursday, 1,123 more persons were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Manipur.

The cumulative number of people vaccinated in the state increased to 73,510, including 30,581 healthcare workers, the release added.

The state health department further said no severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation.
