Two more test COVID-19 positive in Manipur

Manipur's COVID-19 caseload reached 29,298 on Tuesday as two more persons from the general population tested positive for the viral infection, the state health department said.

As per a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, the two new cases were from Imphal East and Imphal West, respectively.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of recovered cases surged to 28,895 with one new recovery. The state's recovery rate reached 98.62 per cent while the death toll remained at 373 as no COVID-19 death case was recorded on Tuesday, the release stated.

It further stated that 2,142 more people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state and the cumulative number of people vaccinated has risen to 70,609.  The number of healthcare workers vaccinated is 30,516, it added.

In case of emergency, the public have been advised to contact helpline number 1800-345-3818. Home isolation helpline number is 0385-2414009.

The state health department further said no severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation.
