AR Noney Battalion lift volleyball winner's trophy

The tournament was organised to promote the 'Fit India Movement' and 'Khelo India Campaign' and also to strengthen the bond of affinity between the forces and local populace.

A two-day Volleyball Tournament organised by Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) concluded at Veitum Khullen Village in Kangpokpi district on Monday.

Noney Battalion, Assam Rifles bagged the first prize whereas S Saheibung Youth Club stood runner-up after a nerve-wrecking final match that was played between the two top teams of the tournament.

The tournament was organised to promote the 'Fit India Movement' and 'Khelo India Campaign' and also to strengthen the bond of affinity between the forces and local populace.

The event also focused to inspire the youth towards sports. Players and others supporters present were also educated on the role of sports in human development and various career opportunities in the field of sports, both in forces and outside were also discussed in detail. A total of six teams participated and they were felicitated at the closing ceremony.
