The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed its deep concern over the unrest situation taking place in Myanmar ever since the "Military Junta took over the government by overwhelming the democratically elected government".
The NPF, in a statement on Monday, said it is "unfortunate" that so many innocent people have lost their lives in the course of the protest against the military rule. "The NPF as a political party believes in democratic values either in the form of expression of opinion or peaceful protest against tyrannical governance," read the statement.
It added that the party strongly felt that in any civilised world, the freedom of expression and peaceful protest should not be encountered with brute force.
Meanwhile, the NPF extended its solidarity with the Nagas living in Myanmar and assured its fullest support in their struggle for democracy and just peace.
The party also expressed hope that good sense will prevail amongst the Military Junta leadership and a peaceful atmosphere would reign without losing any more innocent life.
