Indo-Myanmar border gates to remain closed till March 31

The border gates will remain closed as a measure taken to control and manage the spread of COVID-19.

The Indo-Myanmar border Gates No 1 (Iron bridge) and Gate No 2 will remain closed till March 31 as a measure taken to control and manage the spread of COVID-19, the Myanmar Government announced on Friday.

The announcement was made in a letter from chairman, District Administration, Tamu Myanmar  Kyaw Win Oo to the deputy commissioner, Tengnoupal district, Manipur, with reference to the letter No 3/6-1, Administrative Council of Sagaing Region, dated March 3.

Meanwhile, business activities between the  countries are still going on through the porous border though the Indo-Myanmar border gates remain closed. Many Myanmar goods are coming through this unfenced porous border. Also, many Myanmarese citizens are seen coming to Moreh town and selling goods.
