AMOFA thrashes TRUGPU by 2-0 goals in 1st AMFA Cup 2021

AMOFA Moirang blanked TRUGPU Nambol by 2-0 goals in the 1st AMFA Cup 2021, sponsored by Sheikh Babumacha Memorial Trust at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong Imphal East.

AMOFA strategy worked and struck early as they intruded its rival defence in the 32 minute of play with M Dhanchandra Singh picking up the leading goal. Boosted by the goal, AMOFA rallied hard and finally came up with the second goal from JP Angam in the 39 minute and went on to hold their fort well till the final whistle.

AMOFA player K Newton Singh got a yellow card from referee T Hemanta Singh in the match.

In the other match, SYMROPIA Churchandpur held on LYCC Chandel by 1-1 goals to share a point each. The LYCC team came up with the opening goal from DL Bungren in the 13 minute of play for the brief lead as SYMROPIA fetched the equaliser from Gensonlian in the 36 minute of first half play.

The intensity of the game heightened up but no further goal could come about except that LYCC players Chara M Moyon, Sh Marconian and SYMROPIA player Alfred Kh got a yellow card from referee M Bidyasagar.

In Saturday's matches, WAFA Wangoi will take on Nesu Khurai at 12:15 pm while JSYC Kangpokpi will face KYVO Kwasiphai at 2:12 pm.
