Incinerator installed at plastic-free village in Churachandpur

The incinerator was built by 113 Battalion, BSF under its civic action programme.

Commandant of 113 Battalion, BSF, Hidam Subol Singh handed over an incinerator to Saihenjang Village Authority on Friday, after the village was declared a plastic-free village under Tuibong block, Churachandpur district.

The incinerator was built by 113 Battalion, BSF under its civic action programme.

Saihenjang Village was recognised and awarded as ‘Plastic Free Village’ on the occasion of Republic Day this year by the Churachandpur District Administration for its years-long struggle to make the village fully plastic free. 

Village chief H Doungel exuded strong confidence that the incinerator installed in the village will be of immense service to the villagers in maintaining the village free from plastics. He expressed gratitude to all ranks and files of the 113 Battalion, BSF, particularly its commandant Shubol.

Speaking on the occasion, Shubol said that Saihenjang village has great development prospects and the village is one of the finest villages in the entire state he had ever visited. He urged the villagers to cooperate with each other in order to live up to the village’s full potential and maintain its hygienic environment.
