Manipur man claims most jumping jacks in 1 minute with 128 reps

Mainam Geet beat the existing record of 116 reps in one minute set by Gaber Kahlawi Gaber Ali of Cairo, Egypt on October 10, 2019.

One Mainam Geet from Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak Leikai in Thoubal district attempted Guinness World Records by performing the most jumping jacks in one minute with 128 reps on Saturday.

The event was organised at Thoubal district Table Tennis Indoor Stadium by Thoubal Wangmataba youth Club, Thoubal where the attempt was officially recorded.  

In the category, Mainam Geet beat the existing record of 116 reps in one minute set by Gaber Kahlawi Gaber Ali of Cairo, Egypt on October 10, 2019.

Today’s attempt was witnessed by additional SP (Ops) Thoubal Sachidananda Soibam and additional public prosecutor Aribam Gopen Sharma of Fast Track Court No 1 Manipur.

Retired sport scientist, SAI K Kosana Meitei and retired athletic coach SAI Okram Chaoba were the time keepers.

Retired statistic office Oinam Joy; retired assistant director SAI K Michael; associate professor DM College of Science Ak Bojen and Nimaichand, and headmaster L Shyam took part as the counting judge.

To claim the record, the official video recording and documents will be forwarded to Guinness Book of World Records Authority at London UK.

For achieving 54 reps in Aztec Push-up, Geet was honored during Record Holder’s Award Night 2019 at Sant Hirdaram Medical College on March 15, 2019. During the occasion, he was enlisted among Top 100 Record Holders for the year 2019 by Chief Editors, Records Book of Asia, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Mainam Geet is pursuing 3rd semester in Master of Physical Education at Tripura University. He is the eldest among four children of Mainam Ingocha and Chaobi of Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak Leikai.
