Chingjaroi Khullen Youth Organisation (CKYO) elected its new executive members with Roviso Enoch as its president, R Horngayan as general secretary and AS John Livingson as vice president.
Speaking to IFP over the phone, Roviso Enoch said that the house unanimously elected the body’s new executives with the hope that they will better serve the youth with differences.
"Change can come only if the youths play a major role. We need to sacrifice ourselves for the betterment of our society. And if we want to see growth in our society, we must embrace change and accept the change," exerted Roviso Enoch.
He said that headman of Chingjaroi Khullen, AS Solomon in the presence of village authorities and dignitaries fully endorsed the body to take charge of their mandated roles effectively.
Located in the north of Ukhrul district, Chingjaroi Khullen is one of the biggest villages in the district having approximately 4,000 populations with youth constituting at least 1,000. It is almost 192 km from the state capital Imphal. Visitors thronging these far-flung northern foothills villages are often greeted by the majestic Matha Peak (Chingjui Matha). They could have a picture-perfect view of neighbouring communities including Poumai and sections of Nagaland state. The place is also home to a host of scenic spots and has every potential to emerge as one of the top tourist destinations in the state.
