Meghalaya has recorded 27 new COVID-19 positve cases and nine more recoveries on Friday, official sources said.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases included 15 from Ri Bhoi district, seven from East Khasi Hills district, three from West Jaintia Hills district and two from East Jaintia Hills district.
War said three cases from East Khasi Hills have migrated to Ri Bhoi and one case from South West Garo Hills to West Garo Hills. The patients who have recovered from the viral infection included eight from East Khasi Hills district and one from Ri Bhoi district, he added.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,821 COVID-19 cases out of which 81 are active cases, 13,593 recovered and 147 deaths. East Khasi Hills has 49 active cases, Ri Bhoi 20, West Jaintia Hills 5, West Khasi Hills 4, East Jaintia Hills two and West Garo Hills one.
Of the 3,42,795 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,28,974 were tested negative for the virus even as 17 persons are in institutional quarantine and 64 under home quarantine.
There are 89,353 entrants from outside the state.
