Manipur: 24 new COVID-19 cases reported in Churachandpur

The district has so far reported 79 COVID-19 cases, including 57 active cases and 22 recovered cases.

Twenty-four new COVID-19 cases were on Saturday reported from Manipur's Churachandpur district, taking the total cases in the district to 79, official sources said.

District Surveillance Officer Dr Ngahneikim Haokip said in a statement that the new 24 cases, seven males and 17 females were confirmed at the VRDL of JNIMS in Imphal. Of them, 10 had recently returned from Haryana cases while the other 14 are Delhi returnees, he added.

Churachandpur now has 57 active COVID-19 cases as 22 patients have recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, a total of 184 samples have been collected from various community quarantine centres by the CMO Mobile sample collection team on Saturday, Haokip stated, adding eight more inmates were released from different quarantine centres.
