The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee on Sunday observed a condolence meeting on the sudden demise of senior Congress leader Laisom Ibomcha Singh.
MPCC has resolved to fly Congress party flag at half-mast for a day at Congress Bhawan, Imphal as a mark of respect to the departed leader, a release stated.
It stated that Ibomcha Singh served as secretary Law, commissioner, State Election Commission and he was elected as a member of the legislative assembly for two terms in 2002 and 2012 representing Keishamthong assembly constituency. A two-minute silence was observed during the meeting, it added.
The condolence meeting was attended by president MPCC, Govindas Konthoujam, AICC in-charge Manipur Bhakta Charan Das, leader of Congress Legislature Party Okram Ibobi Singh, member of Congress Working Committee AICC Gaikhangam, MLAS, Pradesh Congress Committee office-bearers and party leaders, it added.
