Manipur Statehood Day: Governor Najma Heptulla, Works Minister Th Biswajit extend greetings

Manipur became a full-fledged state of the Indian Union on January 21, 1972.

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla extended her greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Statehood Day.

In her message, the governor said, "It was on this day in 1972 that Manipur became a full-fledged state of the Indian Union.

“This is an occasion for all of us to introspect on our achievements during the last 49 years. Let us all unite to take Manipur to greater heights of progress and prosperity. Focus should be on every sector to have the desired impact on addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of the state,” she said.

“I wish peace and prosperity to all and hope that our state would achieve all round development for a better tomorrow. On this happy occasion of the Statehood Day, 2021, I, once again, convey my greetings and appeal to all of you to work together for a peaceful co-existence, peace and prosperity,” Heptulla said.

Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh also extended his greetings to the people of the state on the joyous occasion of Statehood Day.

In his message, he said that on January 21, 1972, Manipur attained statehood, fulfilling a long cherished aspiration of the people. Since then, Manipur has made rapid strides advancing toward development in every aspect keeping pace with the rest of the country.

“On this year's celebration let us unite and pledge to work together and bring peace and prosperity in the State. I am certain that each one of us will commit positively to the progress of our beautiful land. Once again I convey my heartiest greetings to the people of the state on this joyous occasion,” the minister said.
