Staff, nurses at COVID Care Centres appeal for extension of contract

A total of 100 multi-tasking staff and 150 nurses were appointed on contractual basis and utilised in the CCCs opened at UNACCO, Lamboikhongnangkhong and RD Wing, Lamphelpat since August, 2020.

The contractual multi-tasking staff and nurses utilised in three COVID Care Centres (CCCs) of the state on Monday appealed to the state government to extend their contract period. They informed that the contract period of the staff and nurses engaged in the CCCs will expire in February this year.

Speaking at Manipur Press Club on Monday, a multi-tasking staff, Sougrakpam Khogen said that a total of 100 multi-tasking staff and 150 nurses were appointed on contractual basis and utilised in the CCCs opened at UNACCO, Lamboikhongnangkhong and RD Wing, Lamphelpat since August, 2020.

The initial contract period of the multi-tasking staff and nurses engaged in the three CCCs was previously extended for three months, he said. He appealed to the state government to further extend the contract period of the employees in view of the service they rendered in fighting the pandemic.
