Training programme on livestock rearing held in Imphal West

Rearing livestock is one of the best sources for sustainable income for rural areas, Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandary H Chaoba Singh said.

A one day training programme on “Livestock rearing for sustainable income of the unemployed youth and farmers” was held at Yurembam Apunba Club, Yurembam Mayai Leikai Imphal West on Thursday, organised by Indigenous Livestock Development Society (ILDS).

Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandary H Chaoba Singh, who attended as the chief guest, said that rearing livestock is one of the best sources for sustainable income for rural areas. This farming activity is highly potent in the state as majority of the population are non-vegetarian and animal protein are one of the important component of balance diet, he said.

The workshop was also attended by president ILDS, G Amitkumar Kabui; head of department Animal Sciences, COA, CAU, Imphal, Th Ranadhir Singh and branch manager, Khumbong Manipur Rural Bank, Ruchi Devi as president and guests of honour respectively.
