Signatory campaign for Nasha Mukt Bharat launched in Imphal East

Additional deputy commissioner of Imphal West Yumnam Nelson said that road accidents in the state will decrease when people avoid using drugs and intoxicants while driving.

Signatory and sticker campaign for Nasha Mukt Bharat, under the initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, was launched by district administration, Imphal West, District Social Welfare office and Youth Initiatives Forum at the deputy commissioner complex, Imphal West on Saturday.

Speaking during the campaign, additional deputy commissioner of Imphal West, Yumnam Nelson said that road accidents in the state will decrease when people avoid using drugs and intoxicants while driving. He also said that every individual is aware of the fact that using drugs does not bring any good to the society. However, drug abuse is increasing these days and it has led to many unwanted incidents in the society, he added.

Nelson further said that many accidents are reported in the state during the festive season since many are driving under the influence of drugs. He appealed to all sections of the state to avoid drugs and stay clean.
