Manipur records lowest single day COVID-19 spike

In all, 18 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 on Friday in Manipur.

Manipur on Friday reported the lowest single-day spike in COVID-19 positive cases at 18, while the disease claimed one more life, according to the state health department.

As per the release from the COVID-19 common control room, one 72-year-old patient from Imphal East died due to the disease. With it, the death toll has reached 356.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases mounted to 28,206 on Friday, the release stated. The total number of Covid-19 active cases stood at 1,108 cases.

Meanwhile, 64 more people have been discharged. With it, the total number of 26,742 people have been discharged so far.

Of the new positive persons, eight people are from Imphal West, three from Imphal East, four from Thoubal and one each from Bishnupur, Jiribam and Ukhrul, the release stated.

All are locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.
