Locals of Khundrakpam demands apology from Rajendro over 'beggar' comment

A public meeting resolved to boycott Rajendro indefinitely if he failed to make an apology to the people of the assembly constituency by Tuesday.

Locals of Khundrakpam assembly constituency have condemned the statement made by the former president of ICHAM, Nongthombam Rajendro during an occasion held at Yumnam Khunou on December 22 and asked for an apology at the earliest.

Nongthombam Rajendro alias Boi should make an apology to the people of Khundrakpam assembly constituency by Tuesday, otherwise he will be boycotted indefinitely from the assembly constituency, a release stated.

General secretary of Awang Ngairangbam Youth Club, L Surjen Singh and N Kunjo mentioned that the people of the area strongly condemned the alleged statement of Rajendro, saying that the people of the area are like ‘beggars’.

A public meeting was held in the area on Sunday with Awang Ngairangbam Youth Club, Village Development Committee (VDC) and meira paibi and it resolved to boycott Rajendro indefinitely if he failed to make an apology to the people of the assembly constituency by Tuesday, the release added.
