Book release and poets meet were held during a solemn function of the 19th Annual General Body Meeting of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad of Thoubal District Branch on Friday at Uyal Laibung community hall.
The event witnessed the presence of Pradhan of Wangbal GP, Heisnam Manichandra as chief guest, while noted satirist and president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Thoubal District Branch, M Rajendra was the president.
President of Khorirol Sandoklup Wangjing, Tongbram Babulal; president of Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing, Kh Gunamani Leima; and project officer of DRDA, Thoubal, Sapam Nabachandra attended the function as guests of honour.
Altogether three books - ‘Ngana Nallaba Angang’, a collection of 10 Manipuri short stories written by Sanasam Racheshwori, ‘Khuman Da Imoinu’, a one Act-play written by Abujam Ibohal and ‘Soknaheidaba Sing’, a collection of Manipuri translation of short stories written by Mulk Raj Anand, translated by Sanasam Nabadwip, were released.
A yearly literary journal of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal District Branch, ‘Khori- Eehul’ edited by Sanasam Bhorot was also released during the function.
Noted critic and associate professor of United College, Chandel, Ibosana Yambem reviewed the book ‘Nga Na Nallaba Angang’ while assistant professor of Manipur Cultural University, Makhon Mani Mongsaba reviewed ‘Khuman Da Imoinu’.
The poets meet was participated by around 40 poets.
