Cycle rally on prevention of substance, alcohol abuse flagged off

A total of 53 students and  NYK Volunteers took part in the cycle rally.

A cycle rally on Prevention of Substance and Alcohol Abuse organised by the district administration Thoubal and the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign committee Thoubal was flagged off at Thoubal Mela Ground on Thursday.

The ceremony was organised under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

Deputy commissioner, Thoubal N Bandana flagged off the rally with a word of appreciation to all the participants and by encouraging them to become warriors fighting for the Prevention of Substance and Alcohol Abuse.

District social welfare officer Thoubal cum member secretary, Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee Thoubal Arambam Kameshwar; member Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee Yumnam Laksman also attended the event. 

Observing the standard operating procedures for COVID-19 by wearing face masks, a total of 53 students and  NYK Volunteers (both NYVs and NDRF trained ones) took part in the cycle rally. The participants carried several placards bearing slogans related to the prevention of substance and alcohol abuse.

A reception programme of the cycle rally was also organised at Babu Bazar by a team led by member of Ward No XV Mutum Prabhahini Devi who offered  refreshment to all the participants.

The cycle rally team was further given reception upon reaching Thoubal Sabaltongba, Thoubal Ningombam, Luxmi Bazar, and it finally concluded at Thoubal Mela Ground.
